Chih Lung Lin is a professor at the National Chung Hsing University, Taiwan. He received his PhD degree from the University of Manchester, UK. He has researched economic history, especially the transport industry, since his graduate era. He has devoted part of his academic life to studying Anglo-Japanese shipping rivalries in Asia since the early twentieth century.
