Subrata Kumar Das, a writer, curator based in Toronto, Canada, initiated the first website of Bengali literature (https://en.bdnovels.org/) in 2003. An author of 31 books, Das’ recent initiative is Canada Journal (https://www.c-j.ca/). Born in Bangladesh in 1964, and immigrated to Canada in 2013, Das has edited three Bengali books focusing on Japan-Bengal relations of more than a century back. His English translation of the Bengali scholar Benoy Kumar Sarkar’s Japan book (written based on his 1915 tour) is to be released soon.  A member of the Writers’ Union of Canada and the Literary Translators’ Association of Canada, Subrata Das is also the initiator of Bangladeshi Novels, the first website on Bengali literature in 2003.
